What kind of training courses does Kappa Data Group offer?

We offer several training courses that we have designed ourselves (such as Basic Network and Security), but are also Authorized Training Center of quite many of our vendors. These include Barracuda Networks, Extreme Networks, Sophos, Stormshield,… From our vendors, these are the official certification training courses where you also get an exam and when you pass an official certificate from the vendor. We also often offer custom training.

It is always indicated in the description whether it concerns official training with certification or custom training.

Are the trainings available virtually or on-site? 
Both are possible! Training courses are often held at our offices (De Pinte BE, Utrecht NL, Lille FR or Nowa Deba PL), but they can also be given virtually. In the case of scheduled training courses, the type of form it is offered. It is also possible to organise training courses at our partners’ premises or at end customers. Do not hesitate to contact us via the specific training page or our general contact form. 
How much does training cost? 

Costs vary depending on duration, possible lab environments costs for official documentation from the vendor, number of participants, virtual or on-site… Contact us to get a quote tailored to your needs.

What is the duration of the training sessions? 

The duration varies per training course, but most training courses last between 1 and 3 days. Always check the training course details page for more information 

What are the requirements for participating in the trainings? 

The requirements vary from one training course to another. Sometimes a training course is a continuation of a previous training, specific prior knowledge is required,… Please consult the detail page of the specific training course you are interested in. There all requirements are listed there. 

Will I receive a certificate after completing a training course? 

At training courses organised by Kappa Data, you will always receive a certificate for participation. In the case of official certifications for one of our vendors an exam is requested in the participant’s name. Upon passing of the exam, the vendor itself hands out the certificate. 

Are training materials available? 

Yes, participants always receive training materials, such as handouts, 
lab guides,… 

What happens if I have to cancel a training course? 

In case of cancellation, our general cancellation conditions apply. Please let us know in good time if you cannot attend, we will see what is possible. 

What topics are covered in the trainings? 

The content varies from training and provider to provider. In general, the vast majority part of our training courses is related to technical knowledge about network and security systems. The content of each training course is discussed on the details page.

Is there a difference in level between trainings? 

Many of our training courses are split into basic training for initial installation, management training for day-to-day users when the product is already installed, advanced configurations and troubleshooting. Please refer to the training detail page for detailed information on the targeted level. 

Who conducts the trainings?

Our training courses are delivered by certified trainers with extensive experience in their field. 

Is there an opportunity for practical exercises during the training? 

Yes, quasi all our trainings include practical exercises and case studies. 

Will I get access to software or tools during the training? 

Yes, if relevant, you will be given access to the necessary software and tools during the training. An environment will be provided that simulates a real-life environment in which work can be done separately. 

Where are the on-site trainings held? 

Most on-site trainings take place in our offices (De Pinte BE, Utrecht NL, Lille FR, Nowa Deba PL). It is also possible to hold the training on-site training at the customer’s premises or at a location of your choice.

What are the times of the training sessions? 

The training sessions are usually from 09h00 to 17h00 in the Central European Timezone. This may be deviated from for specific training sessions. Please consult the details page of the specific training course you are interested in for the correct details.  

How can I register for a training course?

You can register for scheduled training sessions on this website. If the date does not fit, please let us know and we will see if we can arrange another date can be arranged. You can also reach us via the contact form or our known communication channels. 

Do I need specific equipment or software for the trainings? 

For virtual training sessions, you only need a laptop with Microsoft Teams or Zoom, a video and audio system (webcam and microphone), and a stable internet connection. For on-site training sessions, a laptop with power supply. The rest of equipment or software will be provided by us. 

Can I participate in virtual training from a mobile device? 

Yes, but we recommend a laptop or desktop computer for the best experience.

 

For the hands-on part, a desktop or laptop is required anyway. 

What if I have technical problems during virtual training? 

There is in any case always the possibility to ask questions via audio in the conference room questions via audio in the conference room, as well as a chat module. Contact the trainer and a solution will be look for a solution together. 

Does Kappa Data also offer customised training? 

Yes of course! We are happy to help with a bespoke training based on the specific needs of your organisation. 

Are discounts available for group registrations? 

Depending on the size of the group you wish to register with, specific discounts possible. Be sure to contact us so we can see what is possible for your specific case. 

How can I give feedback on a training course? 

An evaluation form will be sent to all participants. You can leave any feedback there. 

What are the benefits of taking a training course at Kappa Data? 

Our training courses are hands-on, provide access to experienced trainers and are tailored to the latest industry developments. Our training courses can given in the country languages where we operate, and allow for specific questions on any current cases. The aim is that each participant leaves the training with sufficient baggage to get started with the products, and that all possible questions have been answered. 

Can I take a training course without prior knowledge? 

Some of our training courses start from scratch so everything is explained from the beginning. Other training courses require prior knowledge, or that previous training courses have already been followed. Check the details page of the training course you are interested in to know the details.
