Introduction

The purpose of this training course is to introduce and teach participants how to install and configure
ExtremeXOS / Switch Engine technology through a presentation interspersed with
LAB exercises to be performed on Extreme switches using CLI commands.

Target audience

This training course is primarily intended for Extreme Switching network installers
using ExtremeXOS/Switch Engine, pre-sales personnel, and individuals who operate
and maintain these networks and wish to master the basic features of ExtremeXOS/Switch Engine switches.
ExtremeXOS/Switch Engine

Teaching methods

The training takes place remotely with a trainer via videoconference and a
virtual environment, alternating between theoretical lessons and practical work.
Trainees receive digital course materials and a guide for the practical work.
In order to put the course content into practice, trainees have access to a
comprehensive technical environment via eLearning.

Training objectives

At the end of the training, trainees will have acquired the following skills on Extreme
XOS / Switch Engine:
– Understand the Layer 2 mechanisms of the OSI model and implement them on
Extreme EXOS/Switch Engine equipment
– Understand the Layer 3 mechanics of the OSI model and configure them on
Extreme EXOS/Switch Engine equipment

ExtremeSwitch Engine » certification issued by the publisher, which attests to their level of expertise.

Duration

The duration of this training course is 3 consecutive days (22 hours of training in total).

Location

This training course is conducted remotely.

Timetable

The training takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Prerequisites and equipment

Trainees eligible for this training must have a good knowledge of Ethernet and IP networks.
It is recommended that they first complete the mini training course and certification
“Welcome Series – Meet Extreme Switching” available at:

Trainees must have a computer and an Internet connection to access
our eLearning platform, as well as adequate audio equipment
(e.g., a telephone with a microphone/headset, or a microphone/headset connected to a PC).

Certification Exam

The certification consists of an online exam (1 hour, 40 multiple-choice questions, in
English). The minimum passing score is 75%. It is an open-book exam, and all resources at your disposal are permitted.

The exam is available once the training has been completed and can be accessed on the
https://dojo.extremenetworks.com platform.
If you fail, you can take the exam a second and final time.
The certification is valid for one year. After one year, Extreme Networks offers a free
online recertification exam.

Accelerated training is designed to take engineers already holding the Installation and Configuration knowledge credential and make ready to become Extreme Certified Professionals. The classes are fast paced, condensed and intensive, and only suitable for experienced engineers with no fundamentals being covered.  

The Accelerated program is only accessible upon completing the Extreme Skills Analysis Tool for Extreme Switching (https://training.extremenetworks.com/extreme-skills-analysis-tool/). Depending on the outcome, you will be granted access to this Accelerated training program. 

Prerequisites 

The attendee must possess the Extreme Switching – Installation and Configuration certification. Based on the results of the Extreme Skills Analysis Tool, you will be advised either to follow the full training track (Management, Advanced Configuration, Troubleshooting) or to enroll directly in the Accelerated course.

This 1-day assessment tests your practical knowledge of the four previous training modules:

  • Installation & Configuration
  • Management
  • Advanced Configuration
  • Troubleshooting

On the day of the ECP assessment, students will have approximately 3 hours of free lab practice before official time starts. The lab exercises will be released just before the start time and students will work on them alone. At the end, the reviewing ATP will grade the assessment. If you pass this assessment, you will earn the title of Extreme Certified Professional in Extreme Switching.

 

Requirements

You hold the following valid certificates from the regular training program:

  • Extreme Switching – Installation & Configuration 
  • Extreme Switching – Management 
  • Extreme Switching – Advanced Configuration 
  • Extreme Switching – Troubleshooting 

Finally, you also passed the Skills Analysis Track of the ECP in Extreme Fabric. This consists of a number of multiple-choice questions and tests your theoretical baggage.

To obtain the ECP certificate, you need to fulfil two conditions. If you meet all the conditions, you can get the ECP certificate by completing the following two steps:

Step 1: You pass the multiple-choice exam of ECP in ExtremeWireless Cloud. This exam tests both your theoretical knowledge of the technology and the product.

Step 2: You participate in the assessment day. Here, your technical knowledge and experience will be tested in practice through lab exercises.

Mandatory requirements

You hold the following valid certificates:

ExtremeWireless Cloud – Installation & Configuration
ExtremeWireless Cloud – Management
ExtremeWireless Cloud – Advanced Configuration
ExtremeWireless Cloud – Troubleshooting

This training course aims to enable participants to design, install and maintain
the Extreme Networks Fabric family of switches
(VOSS/Fabric Engine) over three days. This boot camp also offers an accelerated version
over the last two days, i.e. without practical work or labs, covering
advanced configuration, management and troubleshooting of the
‘Extreme Networks Fabric’ family (VOSS/Fabric Engine).

Target audience

This training course is designed for individuals responsible for the design, deployment,
configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Extreme Networks switches
from the Fabric family (VOSS) who wish to see a condensed and accelerated version
without the practical work or labs for the following training courses: management,
advanced configurations, and troubleshooting of Fabric engine technology (VOSS).

Teaching methods


The training takes place face-to-face in a classroom or remotely with a
trainer via videoconference and a virtual environment, alternating between theoretical lessons
and practical work. Trainees receive digital course materials,
as well as a guide for practical work. In order to put the elements of the course into practice,
trainees have access to a complete technical environment.

Certification exam


The certification allows you to take the Fabric Installation & Configuration, Fabric
Management, Fabric Advanced Configuration, and Fabric Troubleshooting exams. These exams
can be taken online and consist of multiple-choice questions in English. The
minimum certification score is 75%. It is an open-book exam, and all
resources at your disposal are permitted.
The exam is available once the training has been completed and can be accessed on the platform

If you fail, you can take each exam a second and final time. The
certification is valid for one year. After one year, Extreme Networks offers a free online

This 1-day assessment tests your practical knowledge of the four previous training modules:

On the day of the ECP assessment, students get about 3 hours of free practice in the lab before the official time starts running. The lab exercises will be released just before the start time and students will work on them alone. At the end, the assessing ATP will grade the assessment. If you pass this assessment, you will earn the title of Extreme Certified Professional in Extreme Campus Fabric.

Conditions

You will hold the following valid certificates from the regular training programme:

Ces examens peuvent être passés en ligne et sont composés de questions de type QCM, en anglais. Le score minimum de certification est de 75%. C’est un examen type « Livre-Ouvert », toutes les ressources à votre disposition sont autorisées.

Mandatory Requirements:

You must possess the following valid certificates from the regular training program:

Accelerated training is designed to take engineers already holding the Installation and Configuration knowledge credential and make ready to become Extreme Certified Professionals. The classes are fast paced, condensed and intensive, and only suitable for experienced engineers with no fundamentals being covered.  

The Accelerated program is only accessible upon completing the Extreme Skills Analysis Tool for ExtremeControl
(https://training.extremenetworks.com/extreme-skills-analysis-tool/). Depending on the outcome, you will be granted access to this Accelerated training program. 

Prerequisites 

The attendee must possess the ExtremeControl – Installation and Configuration certification. Based on the results of the Extreme Skills Analysis Tool, you will be advised either to follow the full training track (Management, Advanced Configuration, Troubleshooting) or to enroll directly in the Accelerated course. 

Objectives 

On completion of the Accelerated course, you will be enrolled in the Professional Assessment online exam and once this has been passed you will be awarded the Management, Advanced Configuration and Troubleshooting Knowledge Credentials and be able to proceed to the Professional Lab Assessment.

Students are introduced to Extreme Network’s network access control solution, ExtremeControl. Students learn methods to properly install and configure their ExtremeControl engines. Use scenarios and implementations for ExtremeControl within different network models are also discussed. The main ExtremeControl usage scenario covered in this course is the visibility of end systems with Passive and Forwarding modes. This 1-day assessment tests your practical knowledge of the four previous training modules:

  • Installation & Configuration
  • Management
  • Advanced Configuration
  • Troubleshooting

On the day of the ECP assessment, students will have approximately 3 hours of free practice in the lab before official time starts. The lab exercises will be released just before the start time and students will work on them alone. At the end, the reviewing ATP will grade the assessment. If you pass this assessment, you will earn the title of Extreme Certified Professional in ExtremeControl

 

Requirements

You hold the following valid certificates from the regular training program:

  • ExtremeControl – Installation & Configuration
  • ExtremeControl – Management
  • ExtremeControl – Advanced Configuration
  • ExtremeControl – Troubleshooting

Finally, you also passed the Skills Analysis Track of the ECP in Extreme Fabric. This consists of a number of multiple-choice questions and tests your theoretical baggage.
