Extreme Switching – Installation & Configuration

Introduction

The purpose of this training course is to introduce and teach participants how to install and configure
ExtremeXOS / Switch Engine technology through a presentation interspersed with
LAB exercises to be performed on Extreme switches using CLI commands.

Target audience

This training course is primarily intended for Extreme Switching network installers
using ExtremeXOS/Switch Engine, pre-sales personnel, and individuals who operate
and maintain these networks and wish to master the basic features of ExtremeXOS/Switch Engine switches.
ExtremeXOS/Switch Engine

Teaching methods

The training takes place remotely with a trainer via videoconference and a
virtual environment, alternating between theoretical lessons and practical work.
Trainees receive digital course materials and a guide for the practical work.
In order to put the course content into practice, trainees have access to a
comprehensive technical environment via eLearning.

Training objectives

At the end of the training, trainees will have acquired the following skills on Extreme
XOS / Switch Engine:
– Understand the Layer 2 mechanisms of the OSI model and implement them on
Extreme EXOS/Switch Engine equipment
– Understand the Layer 3 mechanics of the OSI model and configure them on
Extreme EXOS/Switch Engine equipment

Trainer

All our ExtremeXOS/Switch Engine trainers hold the “ECP –
ExtremeSwitch Engine” certification issued by the publisher, which attests to their level of expertise.

Duration

The duration of this training course is 3 consecutive days (22 hours of training in total).

Location

This training course is conducted remotely.

Timetable

The training takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Prerequisites and equipment

Trainees eligible for this training must have a good knowledge of Ethernet and IP networks.
It is recommended that they first complete the mini training course and certification
“Welcome Series – Meet Extreme Switching” available at:

Trainees must have a computer and an Internet connection to access
our eLearning platform, as well as adequate audio equipment
(e.g., a telephone with a microphone/headset, or a microphone/headset connected to a PC).

Certification Exam

The certification consists of an online exam (1 hour, 40 multiple-choice questions, in
English). The minimum passing score is 75%. It is an open-book exam, and all resources at your disposal are permitted.
The exam is available on the platform
The exam is available once the training has been completed and can be accessed on the
https://dojo.extremenetworks.com platform.
If you fail, you can take the exam a second and final time.
The certification is valid for one year. After one year, Extreme Networks offers a free
online recertification exam.
