Students are introduced to Extreme Network’s network access control solution, ExtremeControl. Students learn methods to properly install and configure their ExtremeControl engines. Use scenarios and implementations for ExtremeControl within different network models are also discussed. The main ExtremeControl usage scenario covered in this course is the visibility of end systems with Passive and Forwarding modes. Components of authentication, including RADIUS proxies, are discussed. Students will reinforce these concepts with hands-on lab experience by installing ExtremeControl in a preconfigured network.
Target Audience
This course is designed as the first step for individuals responsible for installing and configuring ExtremeControl.
Prerequisites
The Welcome Series “Get to Know ExtremeControl (coming soon!)” is a required prerequisite and must be completed before attending the Installation and Configuration training. Students should have a good understanding of network fundamentals, general network management concepts, as well as network security concepts and technologies.
